Scott Burton brings 25+ years of experience to improve business performance.

Scott E. Burton is a Managing Director at HWSC. Mr. Burton has a distinguished career stemming from his experience with both private and public midmarket and large companies in the US and abroad. He brings over 25 years of experience, as both a consultant and as a C-Level executive, to client engagements on matters related to organizational assessment, operations improvement, and business transformation. Mr. Burton helps analyze business performance and develop action plans to support change, revenue growth, improvements in cost structures, and consistent, sustainable, enterprise-wide results. He excels when managing holistic company-wide change programs, which integrate strategy, process, people, and technology initiatives across all key functional areas of an organization. He is an expert at applying HWSC’ proprietary Value Driver Assessment (VDA) Process to help accelerate equity value growth. Prior to joining HWSC, and since 2008, he provided similar services to businesses while operating Burton Performance Group, Inc.

From 2005 through 2008, Mr. Burton served in two interim President/ CEO positions with WANTED Technologies Corp. (2007-2008) and Clear Picture Corp. (2005-2007) At WANTED Technologies, he successfully led the organization through the post-acquisition integration of a key competitor company. While working with Clear Picture Corp, Mr. Burton successfully led the organization through a business transformation program and business turnaround.

From 2000 through 2004, he served as a Senior Vice President of a Global Business Unit and Operations Committee member at DDI, a global human capital solutions company, where Mr. Burton helped to lead total business transformation and growth programs. From 1996 to 2000, as the National Practice Leader for The Hunter Group (THG) and from 1993 through 1996 as a Senior Manager at Accenture, he led a number of successful business process, change management, organization effectiveness and training services engagements to enable the successful client adoption of ERP systems. During his time at THG, Mr. Burton was instrumental in helping this company become the second largest Peoplesoft systems integrator for HR and Financials.

Mr. Burton started his career from 1983 through 1993 at Gemini Consulting, rising rapidly through a series of promotions and serving both in Europe and the U. S. in critical roles, to help establish Gemini as a Tier I Global Business Transformation Company. Mr. Burton has a BS in Education and a post graduate certification in Behavior Change from Edinboro University. He is also certified in Solution Selling, Change and Strategic Leadership, plus Leadership Assessment and Development Toolsets. Mr. Burton is a current member of the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association (PVCA) and a past member of The Indus Entrepreneur (TIE). He is also actively involved with The Boy Scouts of America and various charity and community outreach groups in the greater Pittsburgh area. He resides in Upper Saint Clair.
